Pomegranate Walnut Sauce – fesenjan in Persian – is a bright, savory Iranian sauce that is often served for special occasions. While traditionally slow-cooked for hours and made at least a day ahead, our handmade sauce contains all of the authentic depth and flavor, so you can enjoy it in minutes.
Traditionally cooked with chicken, Pomegranate Walnut Sauce is also delicious made with beans, roasted vegetables like butternut squash, or even plain. Simply simmer the sauce with your preferred protein or vegetable, then spoon it over rice to serve. For a truly showstopping main course, garnish with a handful of fresh pomegranate seeds.
